Knitting

KNITTING!!! I personally love knitting, I used to knit as a child with my mum, so when I learnt that we'd be covering this technique within college i was pleased to say the least. As I have previous experience in knitting my tutor gave me thicker needles (25mm). As they were large needles I decided to use a thick wool, which I also chose to link with my projects colour scheme (colour scheme produced in mood boards, visual sheets and development sheets). The wool itself was elegantly soft and easy to knit with.

This image below shows the final knitted piece, the type of wool it was it frayed a lot and as it wasn't in a ball therefore it knotted a lot causing it to pull apart easy, therefore I had to keep tying lengths of the wool together; causing the final product not to be as neat as I wanted it to be. However I feel I worked well with the larger needles and I definitely want to try using them again in the future. I used 30 stitches and created 14 rows as the wool ran out.
(the knitted product in this image is folded in half)

The second piece of knitting I did at college this day is shown in the images below. I used a yarn this time again sticking to my colour scheme. I stitched on 26 stitches and knitted 20 lines. I found it hard using yarn as I couldn't keep the tension loose 100% of the time, also I personally don't like using thin needles (2.5mm) to knit with.
