This is the first project where I have created development sheets. Development sheets are simply, a development of my visual sheets; for example taking pieces from both sheets (my two favourite - stained glass and buildings) and expanding and combining them together. I wasn't sure on them to start with but once I knew what to do and started them I began to actually enjoy them. Both of the development sheets I created influenced my final design a lot.
This image below is my favourite of the two development sheets I have produced. I started by batik-ing the background in lines that reflected my visual sheets, I used colours for the background to also link with my visual sheets. This particular sheet was mainly made up from parts of the stained glass visual sheet, however I have developed certain areas by changing the size of certain sections. To fill in area's I have used different shades of light blue gouache paint.
This below is the other development sheet I produced. Using gouache I created a similar background to the 'buildings' visual sheet however I developed it by combining colours from the 'stained glass' visual sheet. This sheet is a combination of both sheets, it has the building outlines like the reflecting visual sheet but I have developed them by adding shapes and lines from the 'stained glass' visual sheet into them. I have also again played with changing the sizes of certain sections and used gouache to fill in areas. Overall this development sheet is a combination of both visual sheets, am I am happy with how it turned out.
