Free Machining.

Today in college we learnt free machining. We used an A4 piece of calico and a circular wooden embroidery hoop to keep the material taut whilst creating a design. I did not begin with a design and image in mind however as I experimented with free machining I began to realise the image I was creating began to take the shape of a horse, therefore I carried on to freely machined to make the  outcome stronger and clearer. After I became familiar with the process I began to use metallic thread. I enjoyed this use of sewing machines and would like to use this process within future projects. Again I used the brothers sewing machine. I will add this sample of free machining to my tech file for any future references.

When we began free machining I was hesitant on this method of machinery. However once I had set up the machine for the process and began, I started to enjoy it and found it an intriguing process.
