In class (08/01/14) we had a design meeting; this design meeting was where in a group of four we went through all of the work (sheet-work and sample) we had created for this project. I had to present my work and the samples I have created in the print room and explain what the objective was for them, this meant explaining what I wanted my finished wallpaper to be for, specifically a room in a house; I decided that I wanted my wallpaper to be for a pool house against a wall containing a fish tank, specific I know! After presenting my sheet-work and describing my colour scheme for the project I started to present my samples; in-between each sample my group discussed them and made positive and negative comments on each one. At the end of presenting my samples my peers deliberated and made a decision on what sample I should extend and re-create for my wallpaper; however this was not easy as there was two sample prints which my group could not decide on, this meant I had to take it further and ask my tutor and print room technician for their opinion; which led to the sample in the image below being chosen for me to re-create as my final wallpaper. I am happy with this decision even thought this was the most full on sample I produced I hope it makes the final wallpaper eye catching and something that people would want and go out and buy.
This sample was produced using the media of Batik. The colours used as the background are the Brusho's Turquoise and Brillaint red, Emerald Green, Turquoise and Violet. The Outer design pigment is one I mixed (Turquoise 4G, Violet Blue 2BTL and Grey BT) and the Inner design pigment colour is also my own mix (Blue B and Pink 5BTL).
